Flames engulf two-story Hyattsville home; no injuries reported

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — No one was hurt after a fire broke out in the Hyattsville community, leaving a home charred on Wednesday evening.

It all began just before 7 p.m. when the Prince George’s County Fire Department was dispatched to the 6100 block of 42nd Avenue. Once on the scene, crews found the roof of the two-story home in flames.

The fire department shared pictures on social media of part of the home destroyed and the steps leading to the backyard gone. The windows of the house were also broken, and remnants of the home lay on the ground.
