Iconic Maryland Diner Serves Dinner for First Time in 44-Year History

Nick’s Diner (11199 Veirs Mill Rd.) in Wheaton served dinner for the first time in its approximately 44-year history on Thursday evening, introducing a Family Dinner Night menu featuring Greek dishes, Mexican selections, comfort-food classics, sandwiches, and desserts (video available below).

Dinner service began at 4:30pm, and the old-school diner was full within the first 15 minutes. The menu included Maryland crab soup, chicken noodle soup, Greek village salad and house salad. Entrées included chicken, steak or shrimp quesadillas, tacos and fajitas, along with pastitsio, Salisbury steak and grilled salmon. Sandwich options included a Cubano, bacon cheeseburger and meatball provolone sub.

Drinks included Southern-style sweet tea and strawberry lemonade, while strawberry streusel cheesecake and chocolate cake were available for dessert. Our very own “Mr. MoCo” Alex Tsironis arrived as dinner service began and tried the Cubano, pastitsio and Salisbury steak platter, along with a strawberry lemonade and strawberry streusel cheesecake…
