WASHINGTON (7News) — Powerful storms brought strong winds and heavy rain to the D.C. area Thursday night, leaving downed trees, blocked roads and damaged homes and vehicles across the District.
Winds reached up to 70 mph in the District, with a 64 mph wind gust reported at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
One large tree fell at 5th and F streets NE, crushing a car and blocking the roadway and sidewalks, according to D.C. Councilmember Charles Allen.
