TAKOMA PARK, Md. (DC News Now) — Two people were displaced Friday after a large tree fell onto two houses in Takoma Park, officials said.
According to Pete Piringer, a spokesperson for the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, crews responded to the 7400 block of Birch Avenue around noon after receiving a report of a tree on two homes.
There, responders found a large tree sprawled across the tops of two houses.
Piringer said one person escaped safely from one of the homes, while firefighters helped rescue another.
