WASHINGTON (7News) — D.C. is suing the owners of a Ward 8 apartment building, alleging they failed to take basic security measures as drug activity and other criminal conduct continued at the property.
The lawsuit, announced by Attorney General Brian Schwalb, targets the owners of a 36-unit apartment building in the Fairlawn neighborhood. The property, owned by 1828 Q Street SE Apartments LLC, Marquis Bailey, and Dion Robertson, is located blocks away from Boone Elementary, Kramer Middle School and Anacostia High School.
According to the Office of the Attorney General, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to the building repeatedly from May through August, with multiple arrests involving alleged drug distribution and seizures of cocaine and crack cocaine…
