Maryland has been a battleground for significant drug operations, with law enforcement agencies working tirelessly to curb the distribution and consumption of illegal narcotics within the state. In a notable operation, Maryland State Police and the Caroline County Drug Task Force successfully dismantled a drug-trafficking organization believed to distribute a vast array of drugs including cocaine, opioids, heroin, marijuana, and methamphetamines along the Eastern Shore​​. The bust resulted in the seizure of more than $1 million in drugs, including 18 kilograms of cocaine and 170 pounds of marijuana, alongside 2.7 kilograms of heroin and fentanyl, 5.9 kilograms of crystal meth, and 34 firearms​​.
