Georgetown University’s College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) will consider delaying the start of its staff restructuring plan from July 1, 2026, to Jan. 1, 2027, CAS Dean David Edelstein confirmed at a May 6 staff town hall.
In late April, College leadership announced a plan to standardize department support that may change administrative staff members’ job titles or reassign them to new departments. Although all administrative staff will maintain employment, many criticized the plan’s rollout for lacking transparency.
Currently, the restructuring is set to take place in two phases, with most College departments being restructured in July and the others — including natural sciences and performing arts — set to undergo the changes in Fall 2026…
