33 roaches, 12 droppings: Greenacres and Lake Worth bars hit with stop-sale orders

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — Two Palm Beach County restaurants were temporarily closed by state inspectors last week after officials found troubling conditions, including roaches among clean cookware, rodent droppings in kitchens, and food safety issues from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

In Palm Beach County, Brick Alley Tavern in Greenacres was ordered closed May 27 after inspectors documented nine violations, six of them considered high priority. Among the findings were about five rodent droppings beneath an espresso machine along the expo line. Inspectors also reported seven live roaches in multiple areas of the kitchen, including on a shelf beneath a prep table where clean pots and pans were stored, along walls and floors near the cook line, and around beverage and ice machine areas.
