WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A Belle Glade man known to investigators as “Tony Hawk” is among the defendants accused of helping fuel a violent criminal enterprise that authorities say terrorized the Glades for years.
He appeared before a judge on Thursday morning. His bond was set at $2 million, and he will be arraigned on July 6. The judge also ordered that he have no contact with his co-defendants.
Daequan Kennedy, whose nickname is listed in court records as “Tony Hawk,” is identified in an arrest affidavit as an alleged member and associate of Nawf Way, also known as the “Sharks.” Investigators say the gang operated out of Belle Glade and was the focus of “Operation Shark Bait,” a yearlong racketeering investigation that led to the arrests of 20 suspected gang members…
