Palm Springs will host Hispanic Heritage Festival on Saturday

PALM SPRINGS — Palm Beach County residents can get a taste of Hispanic flavors, rhythms and customs this Saturday in the village’s Hispanic Heritage Festival , which will feature a live Latin band, salsa shows and a piñata for children.

Palm Springs will host the free community event on Saturday Sept. 21 to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, observed from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15 to honor the contributions of the American Latino community.

The Hispanic Heritage Festival will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Palm Springs Village Hall patio. Attendees can expect performances by DJ Pepe, the Miami’s Combo 305 Trio band and live salsa dancers.

Children will get to beat a piñata stuffed with candy and people of all ages will join on the “Hora Loca,” a signature Latin tradition described as “a party within a party” where everyone dances together.

Hispanics are the largest and fastest growing minority in Palm Beach County. Many of them live in District 3, the county’s first Hispanic-majority district, which encompasses the Greenacres, Palm Springs and Lake Worth Beach areas.
