WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Officials said a hazardous materials “incident” led to the closure of a Kansas water park on Wednesday.
The City of Salina said Kenwood Cove is temporarily closed due to the unspecified incident. The city said in a news release that out of an abundance of caution, it has closed the water park to the public and staff while “appropriate emergency response protocols, environmental assessments, and remediation procedures are completed.”
Local emergency responders are working to assess the situation and ensure the park is safe to operate. The city said until further notice, all activities scheduled at the park are canceled.
