Driver clocked at 96 mph in 40 mph zone in Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A driver is facing a nearly $600 fine after they were caught near a busy west Wichita intersection driving over 50 mph above the posted speed limit.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said a trooper recently pulled over the vehicle after clocking their speed of 96 mph near 13th Street and Tyler Road in northwest Wichita. The posted speed limit is 40 mph.
