Flood alerts have been ongoing for stream, creeks and rivers over several Northcentral Kansas. A Flood Watch will also continue into the overnight. Additional scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop in these spots this evening with further storm formation farther south toward Wichita. There is a risk for severe weather from central into eastern Kansas this evening. All forms of severe weather are possible. A tornado cannot be ruled out. Rainfall will be locally heavy. This will all generally move out later tonight.
Friday’s chance for storms looks isolated. Saturday will be much more active across southern Kansas with heavy downpours. A strong to severe storm cannot be ruled out from Saturday evening into the overnight. Get ready for temperatures to heat up next week. Consistent daytime highs in the 90s are coming and some may inch closer to the century mark farther west.
