Quiet for Monday, but storms return tomorrow

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – After a weekend filled with severe weather, we have a storm free forecast today, but don’t get used to it. Wake-up temperatures in the 50s and lower 60s will climb into the upper 70s and lower 80s this afternoon which is ten degrees below normal for late June.

A few storms will move out of eastern Colorado into western Kansas this evening, but the severe threat is very low and all or most of the activity will stay west of a Hays to Dodge City line.

Storm chances quickly come back to Kansas on Tuesday. The better chances tomorrow will be across western Kansas during the evening, followed by areas farther east on Wednesday morning. Additional storm chances are possible, if not likely late Wednesday into early Thursday, and late Thursday into early Friday. Those storms will also move west to east across the state, and some will be severe with large hail, damaging winds, and heavy rainfall…
