Driver arrested for DUI after crashing into patrol vehicle, Sedgwick County deputy injured

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A Sedgwick County Sheriff’s deputy suffered minor injuries and a driver was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail following a crash involving an SUV and a patrol vehicle reported early Monday morning near Derby.

The sheriff’s office said the driver, suspected of driving under the influence, received treatment at a local hospital before being booked into jail on charges of driving under the influence and aggravated battery of a law enforcement officer. The sheriff’s office identified the man arrested as 24-year-old Kole Montgomery, of Wichita.
