WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A 29-year-old Wichita man is in the Sedgwick County Jail after driving in the wrong direction on Interstate 135 and refusing to stop, reaching high speeds, traveling northbound in the southbound lanes, Wichita police said.
At about 3:15 a.m., Wichita police responded to the initial report of a driver heading toward oncoming traffic on I-135 near Kellogg. A WPD officer, already traveling south on the interstate, “observed the vehicle coming at him head-on near the South Hydraulic overpass,” police said.
“The officer avoided the vehicle and began to stop it. The driver refused to stop, then increased the vehicle’s speed,” Wichita police said…
