WICHITA, Kan. — The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 42-year-old female inmate who died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2026, after a suicide attempt Aug. 13 at the Sedgwick County Adult Detention Facility.
The inmate was placed on life support after she was admitted to the hospital. Her family had the opportunity to visit her and participate in medical decisions. At her family’s request, life support was discontinued Wednesday, and she was pronounced dead at 3:59 p.m…
