WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Work is starting on a road construction project in downtown Wichita next Wednesday.
The city said that Douglas Avenue between Washington Avenue and Grove Street is going to be converted to a three-lane road: one lane going in each direction and a turn lane.
There will also be on-street bicycle lanes, curb extensions, parking changes and new crosswalks. The city said these changes aim to slow down cars, improve pedestrian safety and reduce crashes.
