WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A Wichita high school increased its security after shots were fired in the area on Monday.
Sedgwick County dispatch said the shooting was reported shortly before 2 p.m. near Grove and Waterman streets, about a block from East High School. The Wichita Police Department said the shots were fired out of a vehicle and in the air. No injuries have been reported.
Police said they have interviewed witnesses. Officers said that multiple kids were involved in the incident and that it may have stemmed from an argument.

The school was on lockout while officers investigated the area, but students have since been released. Police said the neighborhood will remain under lockdown. Officers are asking people to avoid Waterman between Poplar and Green streets.
