WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Veterans gathered at Wichita’s Veterans Memorial Park on Wednesday to commemorate 81 years since Japan’s formal surrender ending World War II.
Sept. 2, 1945, was Victory over Japan Day, nearly four months after Germany’s surrender, which marked the end of WWII in Europe.
