3 defendants in April Riverside apartment shooting plead not guilty

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Three people charged in connection with an April shooting at an apartment complex in Riverside were in court Thursday for arraignment.

Brian and Scott Gurrola and Selena Perez all pleaded not guilty. Each is charged with attempted first-degree murder along with additional crimes:

  • Perez is also charged with two counts of aggravated battery and misdemeanor battery.
  • Scott Gurrola is also charged with four counts of aggravated battery and criminal possession of a weapon.
  • Brian Gurrola is also charged with four counts of aggravated battery, aggravated assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and misdemeanor battery.

The shooting happened shortly before 3 a.m. on April 11 outside an apartment complex near Central and Nims avenues.
