WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) — Animal welfare organizations across the Wichita area are warning pet owners about a rise in cases of feline distemper, a highly contagious and potentially fatal disease in cats.
Wichita Animal Services reports that feline panleukopenia virus, commonly known as FPV or feline distemper, is an increasing issue throughout the city and surrounding areas. Animal care facilities across the region have felt the impact, including the Cowley County Humane Society, which reported being hit hard by the virus.
