A stormy night in Kansas produced pockets of beneficial rainfall and some strong winds. A gust to 75 MPH was reported at the Wichita airport as a localized microburst occurred around 1 AM!
There could be a few more leftover showers in the morning, with skies drying through midday. We are finally on the cool side of things, with a gentle northeast breeze that will keep temperatures in the 70s and 80s today.
A few more storms pop up to the west later in the evening to the west, rolling east with another overnight round mainly in western Kansas.
Strong wind gusts are the main hazard, but the tornado threat is not zero.
Cool air keeps flowing Monday and Tuesday as skies stay mainly dry, with highs remaining in the 70s! Tuesday is the first day of astronomical Fall, and the weather will feel appropriate.
Another storm system heads our way by Wednesday and Thursday, with more scattered showers and storms around for the late week.
Notable heat is not expected to return for at least the next week!
