WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Meteorologist Jake Dunne says Saturday’s high temperature of 98 degrees tied the record of 101 days (1954) at or above 90 degrees this year. However, there is no chance of Wichita getting anywhere close to 90 degrees in the next 10 days. In fact, today’s forecast high of 79 degrees would be the coolest afternoon in the city since June 25.
Other than an isolated shower or two this morning, it will be a dry Sunday across the state. However, the next round of showers and storms will venture into northwest Kansas this afternoon/evening before moving into southwest Kansas tonight/early Monday morning.
Monday and Tuesday, also known as the first day of fall, promise to be pleasant with wake-up temperatures in the 50s, highs in the 70s, low humidity, and a mix of sun and clouds. Our next weather maker arrives on Wednesday and/or Thursday with another batch of showers and storms across the state…
