WATCH: Suspect arrested after pointing laser, shooting at KHP aircraft

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A person was arrested in southeast Kansas after shooting a weapon and pointing a laser at a Kansas Highway Patrol aircraft, the agency said in a Facebook post on Friday.

According to KHP, an air support unit was assisting a local law enforcement agency in Labette County when the flight crew was targeted by someone aiming a green laser.

The flight crew located the suspect and directed KHP ground units to the area. The suspect then fired several shots at the aircraft before fleeing the scene in a vehicle, KHP said.
