Wichita Police have arrested a 14-year-old Wichita boy for First Degree murder in connection with the city’s latest homicide.
At approximately 8:47 Friday night, officers were called to a reported shooting in the vicinity of 11700 E. Waterman. At the same time, a walk-in shooting report was also received from a local hospital. Officers arrived there and located Julio Ruiz, 17, of Wichita, who had sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
Police say the shooting occurred in the 100 block of N. Zelta but the circumstances of what led up to the shooting are still under investigation. They add that this was not a random incident and the involved parties are known to each other.
