Light rain tapers off by afternoon

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Meteorologist Dean Jones says that rain and scattered showers will begin to taper off later today. Areas of rain will continue throughout the day for most of the state with cloudy skies and northerly winds. This will keep temperatures in check with afternoon highs only reaching the mid to upper 40s. Rain will end this evening. Additional rain totals of a half inch to one inch are expected for most of the state, but amounts should remain less than a half inch over southwest Kansas.
