Delano became a cow town again Thursday – quite literally with a cow on the loose

Most Wichitans have heard stories of how Delano was a rough-and-tumble cow town back in the 1800s, and Thursday night, it returned to that — literally.

Oklahoma’s Kay County Sheriff’s Office was conducting an investigation into the possible theft of a livestock trailer in the 200 block of North Martinson and requested assistance from the Wichita Police Department.

A homeowner granted law enforcement permission to search the trailer, and during that investigation, a cow not only escaped from its enclosure but got loose in the area…
