The Sedgwick County Sheriff is reopening the investigation into the death of Gypsy Rose Whitton in 2024.
This all comes after prosecutors charged her mother, Shanna Whitton, in the murder of her 15-month-old son in August of 2025. The coroner ruled that his death a homicide, despite Whitton claiming he choked on a meatball.
