Wet & stormy weekend weather across Kansas

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Last night’s storms are long gone and the day ahead looks lovely. Wake-up temperatures in the 40s and 50s will eventually climb into the middle 70s with less wind, less humidity and lots of sunshine.

The warmer and muggy air mass will return to the state tonight setting the stage for our next round of severe storms – and weather alert day – on Saturday afternoon and evening. Expect the activity to get going over western Kansas after 3 p.m. and then move east during the evening. Large hail, damaging winds, and heavy rain are the concerns in that order.

If the storms come to a quick stop on Saturday night, and skies start to clear out on Sunday morning, another round of strong to severe storms is likely on Sunday afternoon and evening. While the exact location is uncertain, the best chances will be across northern and eastern Kansas…
