Catholic Charities’ Foster Grandparent Program is ‘a gift’ to old and young alike

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Catholic Charities Foster Grandparent Program recognized its volunteers at an event in downtown Wichita on Thursday.

The program, funded by AmeriCorps, connects adults 55 and older with opportunities to support and mentor children in schools and youth programs.

Kim Ross, affectionately known as “Grandma Kim,” was forced to retire after developing lymphedema in both of her legs, a change that left her struggling with feelings of loss and depression.
