Driver flees from crash scene late Wednesday in Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (WIBW) – A driver fled the scene of a two-vehicle crash late Wednesday on a Wichita interstate highway, officials said.

The hit-and-run collision was reported around 10:50 p.m. Wednesday on southbound Interstate 135 just south of Lincoln Street. The location was just southeast of downtown Wichita.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2014 Honda Accord and a 2009 Suzuki Equator pickup truck were both headed south on I-135 when the Camry drifted toward the barrier wall, over-corrected to the right and struck the Suzuki on its left-rear side.

The Suzuki then struck the barrier wall and went into the canal, while the Honda struck the barrier wall and came to rest in the lanes on I-135…
