A wet & stormy day across Kansas

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – It is a stormy start to the day across the state. While the activity this morning fades away, another batch of showers and storms will get started this afternoon across western Kansas and then move east this evening and tonight. While some storms will be strong with heavy rain, gusty winds, and small hail, widespread severe weather is not expected.

Between the clouds and wet weather, temperatures today will remain well below normal. Wake-up temperatures in the 40s and 50s will only climb in to middle to upper 60s this afternoon. Friday promises to be warmer with highs in the lower to middle 70s, but that may set the stage for a stronger storm or two during the afternoon and evening.

The overall weather pattern should quiet down and warm-up during the holiday weekend. Showers, storms and highs in the 70s are expected on Saturday, but both Sunday and Memorial Day look dry with afternoon temperatures in the 80s…
