Founder of I Am My Sister’s Keeper and MSK Community Center remembered as mentor, advocate, author, and Wilmington matriarch
WILMINGTON — Delaware is mourning the loss of Charlotte Miller-Lacy, a beloved community leader, mentor, advocate, and founder whose work touched generations of women, girls, and families throughout the state.
Known affectionately as “Momma Lacy,” Miller-Lacy dedicated her life to empowering others through mentorship, education, faith, and community service. Her family announced her passing this week, describing her as a wife, mother, grandmother, friend, mentor, advocate, author, and community matriarch whose influence extended far beyond Wilmington.
“Mrs. Lacy was more than a community leader — she was a pillar whose influence helped shape generations throughout Delaware,” her family said in a statement.
