Over the weekend, the Brandywine Valley SPCA’s Mega Adoption Event brought together people from across the region, resulting in more than 1,200 pets finding loving homes.
The two-day event, held at the University of Delaware’s Bob Carpenter Center, featured dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens from BVSPCA and partner organizations, all available for adoption for a $35 fee.
By the end of the weekend, BVSPCA said a total of 688 dogs and 593 cats (9 other animals adopted at their Washington, DC campus) were adopted.
This adoption event was made possibly by Best Friends Animal Society, a national nonprofit organization whose goal is to end the killing of dogs and cats in America’s shelters and make the country no-kill. No-kill is defined by a 90% save rate for animals entering a shelter…
