N.J. hotel demoted new mom, denied pumping room, then fired her, suit claims

A South Jersey hotel worker says she was demoted, denied accommodations to pump breast milk and ultimately fired after returning from maternity leave, according to a lawsuit.

Maryssa Kearney, 36, of Pitman, sued Pureland Inn Inc., which operates the Holiday Inn in Swedesboro, along with two hotel managers, alleging pregnancy- and breastfeeding-related discrimination and retaliation under the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination.
