ShadFest Highlights Community Connection and Conservation Along the Brandywine River
Each spring, the Brandywine River sets the stage for a community gathering that blends environmental awareness with a full day of outdoor fun. ShadFest 2026 invites families, neighbors, and visitors to Brandywine Park to celebrate the return of the American shad and the continued effort to restore the river that defines the region.
Hosted by the Brandywine River Restoration Trust , the free event will take place on Sunday, May 3 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and offers something for all ages. Throughout the day, guests can explore a variety of food and adult beverage vendors, along with a curated selection of sustainable arts and crafts vendors. The marketplace atmosphere adds to the energy of the event while supporting local businesses and makers who share a commitment to environmentally conscious practices…
