Cockroaches, Unsafe Practices Found at Local Restaurants

WEST CHESTER, PA — The Chester County Health Department reported violations at two food establishments during follow-up inspections conducted on April 30, while multiple other facilities were found in compliance.

At Buena Vista Restaurant, 215 Lancaster Ave. in Malvern, inspectors observed German cockroach activity, including five adults and one gravid female, beneath a hot water heater above a three-compartment sink.

Inspectors directed the facility to contact pest control, conduct deep cleaning, use glue boards to monitor activity, and remove live insects using a vacuum, with contents discarded in an outdoor dumpster…
