After being approved nearly four years ago, a residential development sandwiched between N.C. 211 and N.C. 87 near Southport has returned with an expansion to more than double its size.
The original Southport Meadows proposal received pushback before its approval in 2022, some community members citing concerns about traffic and flooding impacts. Now, developers are asking the county to allow the project to expand by more than double the units originally proposed.
