Leland lifts months-long burn ban

LELAND, N.C. (WECT) – A temporary burn ban in the Town of Leland was lifted Tuesday morning, Sept. 15, at 8 a.m.

Town officials originally enacted the ban on June 9 due to weather conditions unfavorable for open burning.

Despite the restriction being removed, fire officials urge residents to continue burning responsibly by monitoring local weather forecasts, checking for any active restrictions, and never leaving a debris fire unattended…
