Community leaders demand more transparency in Wilmington officer-involved shooting

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Community leaders and the family of Rodney Wilson are demanding more transparency weeks after Wilmington police officers shot the 35-year-old.

Officials with the New Hanover County Black Leadership Caucus held a press conference on Sept. 16 at the corner of 7th and Red Cross streets, where Wilson was shot during a reported mental health crisis on Aug. 21.
