Hackers broke into Canvas, a system used by many school districts and universities in North Carolina and around the United States, multiple school districts reported. They say hackers may have accessed staff and student data.
The cybersecurity breach began on April 25 and was discovered four days later. The breach ended April 29, according to news releases from both Wake County and New Hanover County schools.
“Canvas is a state-supported platform and is also widely used by colleges and universities across the country.
