You’d be hard-pressed to find a house with a more iconic dock than this white colonial from Dawson’s Creek. The Wilmington, North Carolina, home that stood in as the residence of Dawson Leery (played by James Van Der Beek) in Dawson’s Creek has changed hands for $2.73 million, Mansion Global reports, and it comes with 134 feet of water frontage, with the floating dock on Hewletts Creek, which was heavily featured on the teen soap. The sale marks the first time in the home’s 148-year history that it has changed hands.
According to a local report from when the house hit the market in October, asking $3.25 million, it was built in 1880 from reclaimed shipwreck lumber transported by a single horse and log rollers. Until now, it had remained under the ownership of a single family. “Our family has cherished this home for generations, and while it’s hard to say goodbye, we’re hopeful the next owner will love it as much as we have,” a representative told the outlet.
Though Dawson was set in Massachusetts, it was mainly filmed in Wilmington. This property frequently appeared throughout the series, which ran from 1998 to 2003. Interior sets were filmed on a soundstage, but the 1.7-acre spread and its surroundings—particularly the titular creek—will be familiar to viewers of the hit show.
