If you hear gunshots or other concerning noises at Worcester’s Polar Park on Monday, don’t worry, it’s probably coming from one of the hundreds of public safety officials inside the stadium.
Several agencies and hundreds of personnel — including the Worcester Police and Fire Departments, Worcester EMTs and members of the Massachusetts State Police — will be training at the home of the WooSox for most of the day June 15, as part of a mass casualty incident drill from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., according to the Worcester Police Department.
The drill will include simulated gunshots and a recreated car crash, a post on the department’s Facebook page reads. Volunteers participating in the drill will be made up to look injured to make the event seem as real as possible, the post states…
