SHREWSBURY – Shrewsbury pay-as-you-throw trash bags will soon cost residents more.
On June 23, the Shrewsbury Select Board voted, 3-2, to increase pay-as-you-throw bag rates 15 percent. The move will bring small bags from $1.25 to $1.44 and large bags from $2.54 to $2.92. That means bundles of small bags will go from $6.25 to $7.20, and bundles of large bags from $12.70 to $14.60.
After the change, effective July 13, the average family will spend $20.52 more per year…
