Police break window to save toddler from hot car danger

As Worcester County temperatures rose towards unseasonably high temperatures on June 11, a Worcester father wound up facing charges for leaving his 3-year-old child inside a locked car at a Northborough Walmart Supercenter.

Northborough Police and firefighters were forced to break a window of the car to rescue to the child, who appeared unharmed.

“We really evaded a tragedy the other day,” said Northborough Police Chief Brian Griffin. “They [officers and firefighters] did a really good job. They didn’t wait a minute. They knew they had to break the window and get the child out.”…
