Worcester City Manager Eric D. Batista on Friday defended his administration’s announcement of the Department of Justice (DOJ closing its investigation into the Worcester Police Department.
“The report will leave a lasting impact on our community, and I acknowledge the hurt of those affected by such conduct and the concerns community members have,” Batista said in a Friday statement that defied criticism by Councilor-at-Large Khrystian King, who claimed that Batista had mischaracterized a letter from the DOJ.
