Mass. police officer makes history to compete for Miss America crown Sunday

A Westborough police officer who made history this summer as the first active-duty law enforcement officer crowned Miss Massachusetts will take the stage Sunday night to compete for the Miss America crown.

Ashlyn Mercier, 26, has served as an officer with the Westborough Police Department since 2022, according to The Worcester Guardian. She was crowned Miss Massachusetts through the Miss America Organization in June and traveled to West Palm Beach, Fl., to represent Massachusetts on the national stage
