Cold front brings cooler temperatures across Mass. this weekend

A cold front has pushed through Massachusetts, bringing noticeably cooler temperatures and clearing skies across the state this weekend. But residents should brace for a second, even colder stretch arriving early next week, with overnight lows potentially dropping into the 30s by midweek.

The cold air is already making its presence felt across Massachusetts this afternoon. Temperatures today are running roughly 10 to 15 degrees lower than Friday’s readings, with highs in the low-to-mid 60s across much of the state. Overnight, expect lows to fall into the low 40s across inland areas, with the Cape and Islands staying a bit milder in the low 50s.

Sunday should have dry conditions holding through much of the afternoon. However, clouds will begin to build through the day, and late Sunday night into early Monday morning, scattered showers are possible — mainly south of the Massachusetts Turnpike.
