Worcester, MA – January 25, 2024: A teenage suspect was apprehended last night following an armed robbery at M&M Market located at 169 Lincoln Street in Worcester. The Worcester Police Department received a call about the incident at approximately 6:34 PM on January 24th, reporting a male individual robbing the store at knifepoint.
Responding officers quickly arrived at the scene and confirmed the occurrence of the robbery. Upon reviewing the store’s surveillance footage, they observed a male entering the market armed with what appeared to be a machete. A Be-On-the-Lookout (BOLO) was immediately issued for the suspect, and a machete was recovered from the store by the officers.
Approximately an hour after the robbery, officers located and identified the individual seen in the video on Everett Gaylord Boulevard. Remarkably, the suspect was found to be a 14-year-old male. He was promptly arrested and charged with armed robbery.
The quick response and diligent work of the Worcester Police officers led to the swift arrest of the suspect, ensuring community safety. The incident has raised concerns about youth involvement in serious crimes and highlights the need for community engagement in addressing such issues.
